Classes
- Private Instruction
- This is the most effective way to achieve your personal fitness and wellness goals. Each session is uniquely designed to meet any special needs and goals of the client. Private sessions provide the use of every piece of equipment in the studio, thereby maximizing the benefits of Pilates in every sense of the word. Private instruction is a prerequisite for group equipment classes. Typically 3 private sessions will prepare the client for group classes; however, every BODY is different and the instructor will advise on an individual basis as to each client's readiness to attend group classes. Please call the studio for more information and scheduling.
- Introduction to Equipment Workshop
- In lieu of the 3 required private sessions, this workshop will ready most participants to begin Group Equipment Classes. This workshop will be 2 to 3 hours in length and will cover instruction on both the Reformer and the MVe™ Chair. Please call the studio for more information and scheduling.
- Group Equipment Classes
- Groups of 6 or fewer will be led through a 55-minute Pilates session utilizing the Reformer and/or the MVe™ Chair. In addition, props and other pieces of equipment may also be utilized for an added challenge. A minimum of 3 private sessions is required for all students new to Pilates equipment-based work.
- Reformer
- The Reformer is probably the most utilized piece of Joseph Pilates's equipment. It is based on the use of spring tension and allows for the progressive use of resistance to strengthen, stretch and align the body. This piece of equipment can be used for over 100 distinct exercises.
- MVe™
- This new and innovative piece of equipment was developed by the locally owned and operated Peak Pilates in Boulder, CO. The design is based on the original Chair (known as the Wunda or Stability Chair) that Joseph Pilates developed. Most practitioners will argue that the Chair is one of the most challenging pieces of equipment.
Please note that we have a 24-hour cancellation policy for all classes. Thank you.
"A few well-designed movements, properly performed in a balanced sequence, are worth hours of doing sloppy calisthenics or forced contortion."
